This year, I decided to take up a new language—Portuguese—and go on my next language adventure to Lisbon, Portugal. I found an amazing school called Portuguese Connection right in the heart of the city and booked a week-long course at the beginning of August. The weather was perfect! It was sunny and warm—about 25°C every day.
Learn Languages while Watching Shows and Movies
Last year, before leaving for a six-week language trip to Spain, I decided to immerse myself in Spanish. Since I’ve always enjoyed watching TV shows and movies, I thought I’d kill two birds with one stone and watch the legendary Money Heist (La Casa de Papel) in its original language. That’s when I remembered Lingopie—a platform that YouTube had been recommending to me for a while—and decided to give it a try.
Mastering English at Wisconsin ESL Institute in Madison, USA
Last year, I worked as a camp counselor and teacher at the Wisconsin English as a Second Language (WESLI) Institute in Madison, the city I call home. I participated in both the winter and summer camps, where I guided and taught teenagers from Panama, Spain, and France. Through this experience, I not only gained insight into how the school operates but also met students from different corners of the globe and created wonderful memories.
